Butler County Schools Celebrates National GED Day with Pride

Butler County Schools is proud to recognize National GED Day on September 16, a day dedicated to honoring the 21 million GED graduates across the nation, as well as the educators and communities who support them.
Amy Smith-Thomas, Adult Education Teacher for Butler County, shared her deep pride in the students she serves at Butler County Adult Education, the Butler County Jail, and Kentucky Christian Recovery. “My students are so dedicated and motivated to better themselves. This day makes my heart happy,” Smith-Thomas said.
National GED Day is more than a celebration—it is a recognition of the courage, resilience, and determination shown by adult learners who strive for brighter futures. It also highlights the educators and community partners who walk beside them on this journey.
Smith-Thomas emphasized the unwavering support that Butler County provides for her program and for Kentucky Adult Education, noting that such encouragement makes these life-changing achievements possible.
